SATSUMA, Fla. — A 19-year-old man is behind bars after the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office confirmed he shot and killed both of his parents following an argument on Friday night. The incident occurred at a residence on Musket Drive in Satsuma, prompting a rapid response from local law enforcement who arrived to find the suspect armed with a firearm.
Details of the Incident
Deputies were first dispatched to the home after receiving a call from a woman reporting that someone inside was pointing a firearm and threatening her and other family members. Shortly thereafter, another caller reported hearing gunshots in the immediate area. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found Uyleses Servin standing outside the residence holding both a small child and a gun.
Law enforcement officials stated that the child was safely taken from Servin’s custody without further incident. His mother, 47-year-old Cecilia Servin, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. His father, 51-year-old Miguel Servin, later died of his injuries while being treated at a local hospital.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
Jail records indicate that Uyleses Servin has been charged with two counts of capital homicide, two counts of firing into a building, three counts of aggravated assault, and one count of child neglect. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office noted that there were additional children present in the home when the argument began between Servin and his parents.
Two other adults who were inside the residence fled when shots were fired. Authorities have not released information regarding the ages or genders of the other individuals involved, citing privacy concerns for minors. As of Monday morning, Servin remained incarcerated in jail without bond pending further legal proceedings.
