Authorities across Florida and Georgia are intensifying their search for 38-year-old Isabelle Rose Johnson, who is wanted in connection with the murder of a missing local man. The multi-state manhunt follows the discovery of Jason Christopher Coulthart’s remains on June 25 at a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport, Florida. Investigators believe Johnson played a central role in the homicide after finding evidence that points to her involvement in covering up the crime.
Discovery of Remains and Investigation
Coulthart, a 43-year-old New Jersey native and father, was first reported missing on May 24 after leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville. According to an arrest report released by law enforcement, Niceville police received critical information regarding his location on June 25 and transferred lead investigative duties to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, which holds jurisdiction over the property where he was found.
Upon executing a search warrant that evening, deputies discovered Coulthart buried beneath a layer of concrete. A black Cadillac was parked directly over the site, and investigators noted a large white zip tie around his neck. The discovery has prompted an urgent appeal for public assistance in locating Johnson before she can flee further.
Suspect Profile and Alleged Motive
Isabelle Rose Johnson remains at large, with law enforcement suspecting she may be hiding in Habersham County, Georgia—an area she frequents—or traveling through Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida. Investigators note that Johnson relies on multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy, and "Denise." She is also known to use fake personal hardship stories to secure money and rides.
Authorities believe she may have recently cut or dyed her hair to disguise her appearance. A witness informed law enforcement that Johnson had been trying to "get rid" of Coulthart because he was "aggravating and irritating her." Five other individuals have already been arrested and charged with accessory after the fact in connection with this homicide, confirmed by USA Today.
Community Appeal for Justice
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office addressed Johnson directly in a July 16 Facebook post, stating, "Justice is coming. Isabelle. Harley. Jessica. Whatever you’re calling yourself now. Turn yourself in. Enough is enough." The department also shared a message from Coulthart’s family, urging the community to remember him as a son, brother, father, and friend who made people feel cared for.
