Since 2014, six Mega Millions jackpot wins have been recorded in Florida, totaling a combined $3.76 billion in prizes. The most recent major win occurred on July 28, 2026, when a ticket sold at a Wawa gas station in Bradenton matched all numbers for an estimated $800 million prize. While this latest winner has not yet come forward to claim the fortune, their success highlights Florida's continued role as a hub for lottery jackpots.

Recent Bradenton Winner Claims Attention

The July 28 drawing marked the end of a streak that included 37 rollovers following St. Patrick’s Day. The winning numbers were 34-48-49-59-70, with a Mega Ball of 12. According to Florida Lottery officials, the ticket was purchased at Wawa located at 14510 State Road 70 E in Bradenton, near the Tampa area.

"We are thrilled to congratulate Florida's newest Mega Millions jackpot winner on this incredible, life-changing moment," said Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald Dixon. "This win is an exciting reminder that every ticket carries the possibility of a dream come true."

The total final sales for this drawing reached $803 million. The anonymous winner has two options: take the advertised annuity worth approximately $800 million or accept a lump-sum cash payment estimated at $344.2 million before taxes. To claim the cash option, the winner must act by September 26, 2026. For annual payments, the deadline extends to January 24, 2027.

A History of Big Wins and One Missed Opportunity

Florida’s history with Mega Millions includes several massive payouts alongside one notable expiration. On August 8, 2023, a ticket sold at Publix in Neptune Beach won the record-setting $1.58 billion prize (final sales reached $1.602 billion). "Saltines Holdings LLC" from Miami claimed the cash option, taking home nearly $794 million.

However, just one week later on August 15, 2023, another Publix location in Jacksonville sold a winning ticket for a $36 million prize. That winner never came forward, and the jackpot expired after the deadline passed, resulting in no payout from that specific draw, more context in Florida Lotto Jackpot Hits $3.5 Million This Saturday.

Other Notable Florida Jackpots

Beyond the recent Bradenton win and the 2023 Neptune Beach record, other significant wins have occurred across the state. In March 2014, a Merr Island resident claimed $115 million from a $400 million prize sold at Sunoco. A January 2018 win in Port Richey brought $281 million to "Secret 007 LLC" after being sold at a 7-Eleven.

Most recently, an October 2022 drawing saw a Fort Myers ticket sell for $494 million. The winner, identified as "Pineapple Trust" from Bonita Springs, took the cash option of approximately $126 million. These six wins illustrate both the massive potential rewards and the strict deadlines associated with Florida's lottery system.
