> President Donald Trump rallied supporters in Daytona Beach on Friday before reversing course to campaign again in Iowa and Kansas ahead of the midterm elections determining Congress control.

## Las claves

- Trump held a rally in Daytona Beach urging GOP turnout for Tuesday's midterms
- The event took place on Friday with competitive Senate races looming in other states
- Republicans seek to maintain congressional control as Trump resumes campaigning

President Donald Trump energized supporters in Daytona Beach on Friday, urging Republicans to head to the polls ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections. The event was part of a broader effort by the president and his party to maintain control of Congress, which will determine legislative dynamics for the final two years of his presidency. "These are the most important midterm elections ever," Trump told the crowd, emphasizing the high stakes involved in determining whether Republicans retain their majority or if Democrats make significant gains.

### Abrupt Shift in Campaign Strategy

During the rally, President Trump acknowledged the grueling nature of his recent schedule while speaking with Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds. He admitted that he had initially believed this appearance would be his last in-person event before Election Day, noting that "twenty-eight days in a row" of campaigning was exhausting. However, the president abruptly reversed course on Friday, announcing plans to return to the campaign trail for back-to-back rallies in Iowa and Kansas on Sunday, as this newspaper reported in [Trump Tells Ohio Voters 'We're Going To Win Big' At Dayton Rally Ahead Of Midterms](/noticia/trump-tells-ohio-voters-were-going-to-win-big-at-dayton-rally-ahead-of-midterms).

### Focus on Competitive Senate Races

The decision to continue traveling comes as Republicans work to boost voter turnout amid concerns about affordability and dissatisfaction with the administration. The stakes are particularly high for Trump, whose agenda could face smoother passage under a Republican-controlled Congress or significant obstacles if Democrats gain ground. Both Iowa and Kansas feature competitive U.S. Senate races that could tip the balance in the chamber. Trump has already visited these states this month to support candidates including Sen. Roger Marshall in Kansas and House member Ashley Hinson in Iowa.
