Residents across Central Florida are buzzing with excitement after a lucky player claimed the $6 million prize from the Saturday, Aug. 8 drawing of the Florida Lotto. The winning ticket was purchased at a Sunoco station located within the state's vibrant lottery network. This significant win adds to the recent surge in high-profile jackpot claims throughout the region, including an $800 million Mega Millions victory that was reportedly claimed by a winner from Bradenton earlier this week.

### Local Lottery Success Continues

The claim at the Sunoco station highlights the ongoing trend of lottery success stories emerging from Florida's major transportation and retail corridors. While specific details regarding the identity or exact location of the Sunoco outlet were not released by state officials, such wins often draw attention to local businesses in busy areas like Orlando and its surrounding communities. The Florida Lottery frequently sees a spike in ticket sales following large jackpot announcements, as residents hope to replicate recent successes.

### Regional Jackpot Momentum

This $6 million payout follows closely on the heels of the massive Mega Millions win from Aug. 5. That particular drawing saw an $800 million prize claimed by a winner associated with Bradenton, further cementing Florida's reputation as a state where major lottery fortunes are made. The proximity of these wins to Central Florida hubs like Orlando and Kissimmee has sparked local interest in how often large prizes are won within the I-4 corridor, as this newspaper reported in [Florida Lotto Jackpot Hits $3.5 Million This Saturday](/noticia/florida-lotto-jackpot-hits-35-million-this-saturday).

### What This Means for Players

For those following the numbers, this latest win serves as a reminder that significant payouts can occur from standard retail locations. The Florida Lotto continues to be one of the most popular games in the state, with draws held regularly throughout the week. As players across Orange County and beyond check their tickets for future drawings, the recent cluster of high-value claims suggests that luck may still be on the horizon for local residents.
